3 FirstDown PlayBook Programs To Watch
Here at FirstDown PlayBook we always try to be careful about “gumping” any of our favorite football programs out there while the season is still being played. However, there does come a time when, even though there is much more work to do, we want to point out some of our FirstDown PlayBook programs who are doing very well.
With apologies to our other programs out there who are having great seasons too, we want to feature three here that are using FirstDown playBook and the results are undeniable.
Is FirstDown PlayBook the reason for the success? Only partially, of course. However; consider this. Good programs do most things right. They sure don’t trust their primary way that they teach their players to anything but what they consider to be the best option out there. With that being said…
Texas Wesleyan Rams (7-0)
This is a pretty extraordinary story within itself. This team loses it’s head coach and brings in another up and coming star head coach in Brad Sherrod. Brad is smart enough to retain Fran Johnson, one of the brightest young minds as his offensive coordinator.
The result? Currently they are 7-0 and lead the nation in offense in just about every category. Fran Johnson found us three years ago. Simply put, he got it. He was willing to sit down and look at the best way to teach his players. He has invested in the process and the results are obvious.
Mission Viejo Diablos (9-0)
There are high school programs who coach at a college (or above) level and there are college programs who coach at a high school level. It’s just a fact. Before you mention money or budget, let’s shut that down right here. Some coaches just figure out how to do more with less. We have many FirstDown PlayBook programs who understand the value we bring. This is obvious on both sides of the ball.
Mission Viejo and Chad Johnson have been using Firstdown PlayBook for over five years now. They have wisely used it as a vertical alignment tool that builds the program now and for years to come. They get more reps than you in a team period too. How? Check it out here. Just one of the reasons they won the state championship in California last year. They are also currently 9-0 and ranked number 9 in the country.
Lenoir Rhyne Bears (7-1)
The Lenoir Rhyne Bears have a very big game this weekend vs a Wingate team who is on a four game win streak. First year head coach, Doug Socha is quickly proving that he is a winner, wherever he sets up shop. Last year’s national championship at Keiser was just the beginning.
Here is what we respect about this football staff. Doug, who has coached in the NFL and his entire staff came into our booth at AFCA last year. They all literally sat down and looked at how we could help them. We have respectfully admired how they go about their business this season as a FirstDown PlayBook program.
So as we all head into the last parts of our regular season, consider this. How can your football program get better? Offense? Defense? How can you get better as a football coach? November is a time of evaluation and reflection for most football coaches. FirstDown PlayBook would love to be part of your 2025 improvements.
