The natural evolution with football is that when the professionals start doing something it typically trickles down to the younger leagues. With the explosion of flag football many young players are learning how to take a shotgun or pistol snap before learning how to take a snap under center. Taking the snap from the gun also allows a young quarterback to see the entire field a little better.

Now make no mistake about it. You are putting more burden and responsibility on your youth football center. This player will certainly need a lot of practice to execute the shotgun snaps accurately. This can be achieved through with the right amount of practice.
