How To Create Great Route Templates (And Others)
Anyone who has spent any time drawing football plays and defenses knows that the more you prepare ahead of time the better off you are. The new FirstDown PlayBook “My Templates” area is built precisely on this foundation. Today we want to give you a tip or two on how to create great route templates.
Most football coaches and players are visual. Bigger is normally better when it comes to drawings, as long as it remains practical. This is why we want to help you out with how to create easy to use templates in the new “My Templates” area.
We certainly understand that you will all use this in many different ways. Some of you will save your formations and defensive fronts in this area. Others will save your favorite blocking schemes so you don’t have to draw the power 457 times this season. Finally, a lot of you will want to have your route tree at your fingertips when you need it for the passing game section.
Regardless of how you plan to use it, you want your templates to be as easy to use as possible. In this video we explain how you can actually use another recent FirstDown PlayBook feature to do this. You can now use the new zoom feature while in edit mode to create even bigger, better templates.
Find Your Custom Plays By What You Name Them
It’s very easy and if you are all about saving time, then this is a video you are going to want to watch. We have had an overwhelming response to the “MyTemplates” section in the several days since we released it. We will be harping on it quite a bit here in the coming weeks as we continue to help you get the full use out of it.
It’s a two way street too. It is important that you know we want your input on this and all things to do with FirstDown PlayBook. We always want our FirstDown PlayBook coaches to have a voice with your football playbook. That’s why it’s “For Coaches. By Coaches.”
