Youth Football 6-2 Pinch Bounces The Ball

#1 Tool For Youth Football & Pop Warner Coaches

Some Pop Warner offensive formations are just built for getting downhill on your defense. You can find a lot of these formations on Saturday mornings across the country. The youth football 6-2 Pinch is a good response.

Why? Well it is primarily because a lot of youth football offenses are smart enough to play to their strengths. A strong inside run game is a lot more achievable than a spread offense built on your ten year old quarterback’s arm.

If you are coaching defense against one of these offenses you know it’s coming before the ball is snapped. Take the Power I formation below. You know you are about to get a whole mouthful of A and B gap run game for most of the game. Some Pop Warner coaches will wisely not run anything else unless you stop it.

NFL Coaches On 12 Formations To Consider For Your Youth Football Offense

What can you do about it? Well one suggestion would be to pinch your defensive linemen and force everything to bounce outside. The youth football 6-2 pinch does this. This makes the offense play laterally instead of downhill on you. There is more you can do with this youth football defense than you know. You can even play cover 3 behind it.
