One of the most common things we hear from NFL flag football coaches is that there just isn’t that much their players can do at this young age. We always try to encourage the coaches to embrace this, instead of fighting it. There are always simple short flag football passes to install with your younger players.

The first way to embrace it is to keep your plays simple. If you have comebacks as part of your passing game, you are going to struggle. You are looking for five yard stop routes, slants and hitches.

Today’s short Flag Football Chalk Talk video shows how to get a lot of milage out of just one play. We have seen flag football coaches who are working with 7-8-9 year olds run one pass play. That’s right! One pass play for the entire game.

The key is to teach every NFL Flag player all of the positions so that they all get to experience and execute the different skills. After your team masters this, just flip the play and run it the other way! You are achieving several things here. You are teaching them the complete play and getting all of your players involved.
