Don’t Forget The Run Blocking Drop Down!

By FirstDown PlayBook on Sep 9, 2020

It is very easy to think you are seeing the end product when you open up a FirstDown PlayBook run play. You find yourself looking at a very well drawn play, in color and blocked up perfectly. The run blocking is very detailed with colors and clear execution. We think that is important in order to teach well.

Here’s what a lot of you are missing though. You are looking at only one variation of that play. FirstDown PlayBook has blocked that play up against several other defenses. Once again, we pride ourselves on the detail we provide football coaches.

We notice that some of you are making edits to, let’s say, a 4-4 defense to make it a 5-3. You don’t need to do that because we already have done that for you! You just hit the dropdown menu and chose the run play variation you want. Protections are built the same way too.

Also, don’t forget that we flip every play and defense in FirstDown PlayBook for you so when you find, draw or edit your play… your work is done. All you need to do is flip the play and save it again.

You defensive coaches will want to make sure to watch this video below too because there is a time saving tip in here you are going to be jacked up about. So take a look at this short two minute video and remember…Don’t forget the blocking schemes drop downs!
