Create A Visual Defensive Call Sheet With FirstDown PlayBook
Ask any Defensive Coordinator about what information they want before making the their call and they will say they want to know what personnel the offense has on the field. FirstDown PlayBook understands that. Today I will show you how to build a visual defensive call sheet that makes sense.
Before I do that though I want to point out that our FirstDown PlayBook smart Game Day Call Sheets have been a big hit. This has allowed football coaches to build their call sheet directly from their playbook sections.

I want to pick up on that today but look at it from the defensive side of the ball. As I mentioned above, a Defensive Coordinator needs some of the same information that an offensive play caller does.
They need to know the down and distance, the yard line and hash the ball is being placed on. After that they want to know what personnel the offense has on the field.
A Quick Visual Defensive Call Sheet & Of The Offense Tendencies Is A Huge Advantage For Any Defensive Coordinator
All offenses have tendencies. All good Defensive Coordinators know them and play defense to defend those tendencies. It is called making the offense beat you playing left handed.
This is translated as defending what the offense does the best and the most. If the offense wants to run something other than what they do the best and the most then that’s an advantage to the defense.
