Youth Football Gun Double Wing Power Install

The FirstDown PlayBook youth football Gun formations is growing. We have started with the very popular Double Wing formation and moved the quarterback into the gun. FirstDown PlayBook has approached this like would any other offensive formation. This Gun Double Wing Power offers you balance when run with other plays.
Previously we have installed Gun Double Wing runs that feature the quarterback, the fullback and of course the wings who make this formation hard to defend. The youth football Gun Double Wing is at first glance, a balanced formation. It is a 2×2 formation that gives you flank advantages to both sides.
The balanced threat does not stop here though. When either motion goes in motion things look different in a hurry. Suddenly the defense has an overloaded side that it must adjust to. If they do not then they will quickly be outflanked. FirstDown PlayBook keeps this in mind when we design your youth football plays.
Who carries the football is not the only way FirstDown PlayBook attempts stay balanced. Your Pop Warner offense now has a hit chart that allows you to attack the perimeter in several different ways. Our latest install incorporates some downhill power for you. Literally.
Timing Is An Important Part Of Making This Youth Football Play Work
As you will see in this short 50 second video we have drawn up the downhill power for you. There are coaches who don’t think you can be as effective with a power run game from the Gun formation. FirstDown PlayBook disagrees. This Gun Double Wing Power is a good example.
When you run the power with your quarterback under center, a common coaching point for the quarterback is to take the ball off the line of scrimmage for the mesh with the running back. When you run this youth football Gun Power, the Quarterback just opens and hands the ball off with depth.
4 Youth Football Offenses FirstDown PlayBook Does Not Like…And Why We Don’t
The key coaching points for this play is to time up the motion so that the defense has to defend the perimeter run. Everything should look like it is heading outside until the ball carrier puts his foot in the ground and attacks the B or C gap.
So take a quick look at this short Gun Double Wing Power video so you can keep up with the progress. We will be adding youth football plays on almost a daily basis. Rest assured we will also install passing game help from these formations too. Stay tuned!
