What The Quarterback Sees…

The All 22 Tuesday segment has become one of our favorites here in the FirstDown PlayBook locker room. It’s a lot of work, but it really forces us to slow down and return to our old NFL quality control days. Today we look through the eyes of an NFL quarterback.

The All 22 Tuesday segment has become one of our favorites here in the FirstDown PlayBook locker room. It’s a lot of work, but it really forces us to slow down and return to our old NFL quality control days.

One thing we have come to realize though is that when you draw all 22 of the players on the field it can get busy. Essentially All 22 tells a story, but it’s a big story with a lot going on.

Teaching A Young QB Coverage

Sometimes the saying “See a little… See a lot. See a lot…See nothing.” applies. For this reason, every now and then, we are going to remove some of the parts of the play to focus on just a part of it. This is particularly important for a quarterback.

One of the pass plays that we featured this past weekend is a good example. Once again, there is a lot going on here. You have motion and jet sweep action. There are four out to one side. You have a vertical and a high low concept all wrapped up into one football play.
