Red Zone Football Plays With Options

The more things one football play can do for you the better off you are as an offensive coordinator. If you can call the same play multiple times in a game and have answers regardless of the defense that is powerful. Nowhere is that more true than with red zone football plays.

Red Zone Football Plays With Options Are A Good Thing

Today we want to look at a play we call 918 Under F Shoot. It is one of our favorite red zone football plays for several reasons. The red zone is a tricky place because you obviously do not have your vertical came to rely on. This means you have to make the best of the 53 yards and change from sideline to sideline.

You have to understand your strengths and weaknesses. The defense is likely going to double your strengths and let your weaker players get one on one matchups. Sometimes your quarterback will not know this until the ball is snapped.

Another read we like this play is it is protected with six man protection, yet you are getting a back out on the Shoot route. This football play also gives you plenty of quick simple answers vs six man pressure to the strong side.
