October may be the month that the best baseball players in the world settle things but this month is important for high school girls flag football as well. The majority of our FirstDown PlayBook high school tackle teams are deciding who gets in the playoffs. We are closely following this and will be up until Christmas.

Today however; I want to focus on three states who have either recently crowned champions or are in the thick of things this weekend and this month. Before I get into the three state championship playoffs, I want to thank our hard working flag football comrades over at The Flag Football Source.

We stole a lot of this information from them. You should too. Go check them out. They cover flag football better than anyone else out there, and yes, it is 100% free.

Alaska

Congratulations are already in order for the North Pole High School Girls Flag Football Patriots as they won a hard-fought victory over Colony High School this past weekend.

North Pole went 19-2 overall with a 14-1 conference record. Hats off to all of the teams who competed in the ASAA Flag Football season and championships.

Colorado

The Colorado High School Athletic Association flag football playoffs are in full swing in the Rocky Mountain state. These ladies are playing in two separate divisions, which are 4A and 5A.

16 girls flag football teams have advanced to the second round of competition in both divisions. The second round will be played at various locations on Saturday, October 17. Champions will be crowned on October 24

Illinois

Willowbrook High School is where you want to be if you reside in the state of Illinois today and tomorrow. The 2026 IHSA Girls Flag Football State Finals featuring eight games are on tap. If you can’t make it to the games they are also going to be live-streamed on the NFHS network!
