NCMFC & UFL Partner To Launch Scout School
FirstDown PlayBook is always excited to introduce you to other aspects of football that we think can enhance your football knowledge and maybe even your career. FirstDown PlayBook partners over at the National Coalition For Minority Football Coaches recently announced that the NCMFC has partnered with the United Football League to create Scout School.
Scout School will showcase and teach the ins and outs of scouting live. It will also put your skills to the test on the field. At Scout School, pro scouts cover the evaluation skills necessary to identify talented football players and evaluate them by position.
In addition, instructors teach correct NFL procedures for timing, measuring, and testing prospects, as well as official NFL operating procedures for all player position drills.

At Scout School (SS), students acquire the skills to assess players during a LIVE UFL Showcase. They will learn the appropriate methods for timing, testing, and scouting professional prospects.
The SS curriculum is vital for coaches, aspiring scouts, sports management students, media commentators, graduate assistants, interns, agents, and anyone aiming to establish a career in the football industry.
Working closely with SS Instructors, students engage in scouting as they observe players being timed, tested, and participating in standard NFL combine drills. Additionally, SS students receive instruction on the proper protocols for timing and executing position drills.

The coursework also covers writing scouting reports, interviewing professional prospects, understanding the terminology of scouting. It will also familiarize students with standard reporting formats.
