GoRout Adds New Wing T PlayBook on FirstDown PlayBook
GoRout has done it again. This time it’s the Wing T football coaching community who is benefitting most. When it comes to the Wing T there are so many different ways it is being run now. It has come a long way since the traditional two backs and a wing when the Delaware Wing T was introduced by then head coach David Nelson in 1951.
Modern Wing T Offenses
One can only wonder what Pop Warner and David Nelson would think of today’s Wing T Offenses.
At the time this style of offense was seen as revolutionary and radical when compared to Pop Warner’s Single Wing offense.
It is amazing to think that Pop Warner started running the Single Wing in the early 1900’s and it took nearly a half a century before we saw the Wing T.
I can only wonder what Pop Warner and David Nelson would think about how advanced their versions of the Single Wing and Wing T have come!
My guess is that they would both be beaming with pride if they saw the Gun T offenses that Kenny Simpson runs or the Wing T concepts that show up in the NFL on a weekly basis.
The beauty of the Wing T is that it can give college defensive coordinators fits, but it can be run efficiently by 9 and 10 year olds.
