Concordia Dials Up 6 For NAIA All 22 Tuesday!

By FirstDown PlayBook on Mar 2, 2021

One of the great things about having real football games this spring is that we can draw them up for you here at FirstDown PlayBook. The NAIA spring season offers us a great opportunity to show off some of the meaningful football being played right now. This NAIA All 22 Tuesday play is a great example.

This past weekend Concordia went on the road and knocked off #22 Siena Heights. Our featured All 22 Tuesday play occurred with 8:22 remaining in the first half. The game was a defensive struggle throughout so this was a critical play in the game.

Concordia set this pass up perfectly as they dialed it up right from the sideline after a Siena Heights punt. Understanding that the Saints would be thinking run, the Cardinals called a play action pass. This play action comes off of their split zone run game.

This “scissors” or 78 concept caught the Siena Heights defense flat footed and the post ran through coverage. As it turned out this was the only touchdown of the day for Concordia but it was enough to win 10-7. Be sure to check back in each week for more NAIA All 22 Tuesday plays.
