12 Man Football: W Crossfire
We are not going to lie. The 12 man football section was almost as big of a learning curve as the 6 man football plays were for us. Thankfully we recruited the expertise of a former CFL quarterback to get us started on the right track. This 12 man football play that we call W Crossfire is a good example.
Like all of the different versions of football in FirstDown PlayBook there are always similarities to the 11 man version. This is obviously a counter run play with an around that would be good in an 11 man football playbook too. We really like this play because of the 2 back downhill threat that the defense sees first.
You see that we have chosen this 12 man football play drawn up vs a bear front. The first thing that sticks out is that the Jack linebacker would be unblocked vs the 2 back lead to the strong side. Because of this he will be flowing over the top as soon as he sees that fullback. This will make the block of the play side tackle easier.

The pulling tackle will log the play side will linebacker. He may even by pass the Will as they lead for the W on the end around run. Another similarity with this play to an 11 man version is that you are trying to make the corner tackle. The X will seal the H and the W must make the corner miss.
